Karen Marie Moning, author of the popular Fever books, is working on a graphic novel about the Fever world and will write three spinoffs from the series.

About the spinoffs: William Deal of Static Multimedia writes:

Delacorte Press has signed Karen Marie Moning for three new novels that will spin off from her New York Times bestselling Fever series, it was announced today by Gina Centrello, President and Publisher of the Random House Publishing Group, who acquired US/Canadian rights from Amy Berkower at Writer’s House.  Moning’s longtime editor, Shauna Summers, will edit the books. About the graphic novel: Moning posted this on her Facebook page earlier this week:

It’s official — I’m working on a graphic novel for the Fever world! Here’s a clip from Del Rey’s press release: “Because it is set during Moning’s five-book Fever series, the graphic novel will serve as an entry point into the Fever universe, introducing the sidhe-seers and their ongoing battle to protect humans from the immortal Fae, while giving already “fevered” fans thrilling new glimpses into beloved characters.”

And she posted this on her fan forum:

I’m so psyched because I’ve had a story driving me nuts for a while, in the Fever world that I just couldn’t fit anywhere. When Del Rey approached me and asked if I was interested, I jumped at it. They’ve done a fantastic job with Jim Butcher and Patricia Briggs. Mine will be done similar format, hardcover, full color, wonderful art. I’m looking forward to working with the various artists to bring the Fever characters to graphic novel life! I can’t say much about the storyline, yet….but will keep you guys posted as it moves along….

In other news: Moning  releases a few names of special guests who will be at FeverCon in Atlanta on Oct. 1-3. From her blog:

Two of my favorite authors and friends Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole are coming to hang out and have fun, sign books and do a workshop or two! Audio book narrator extraordinaire, Phil Gigante will be there and so will my divine inspiration for JZB—actor, Eric Etebari–and they’ve both agreed to rock out with the BloodRush band!

Moning also writes on her blog: “I’m crazy busy writing the never-ending SHADOWFEVER.” (SHADOWFEVER is the last book in the Fever series and comes out Dec. 7.)
