Hey — maybe it got stinky reviews but apparently after its midnight premiere on Thursday NEW MOON already has broken midnight sales records.  According to CNBC, Summit Entertainment says that the second movie in the TWILIGHT saga earned  $26.3 million. That tops previous the midnight record of  almost $23 million from HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE. CLICK HERE to read the whole CNBC story.

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, check out the official trailer below!

1. Lisa Champ - November 25, 2009

I saw the movie over the weekend. I thought it was fine and amusing. I laughed at parts that weren’t meant to be funny, and it would have been more enjoyable if not for the squealing 12 year olds, but it was ok.

I’ll see New Moon next weekend. re squealing 12-year-olds … well, there will be squealing … and then there’s waiting in line with ’em! (Maybe won’t be so much next weekend. Then again — that’s part of the movie experience!)

3. Laura's Reviews - December 11, 2009

My favorite part was the gasp from the entire audience when Jacob ripped his shirt off. I thought the movie and movie going experience was very enjoyable.

I thought this movie was just plain fun. Is it a great movie that stands on its own? Not really. But again — I think fans of the books just love to see the characters on screen. Jacob was so buff! I guess if you were just in the Edward Camp before seeing this, you might now be on Team Jacob!

The expectations left by the first movie were not realized in New Moon. While we wanted to like it, there was not enough of anything there. 60 minutes of entertainment crammed into 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Here is our take with lots of pics and a little wit if you are interested:

Hey — thanks for the link to your take on the movie. Very cool. Gotta wonder what the next release will bring …..

We do not think the series is going in the right direction, but it would be nice to see the trend reversed for us all: Writers, movie goers, everyone involved.
