A new twist on paranormal? ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ April 10, 2009

My spouse has never read any of Jane Austen’s novels. But he’s certainly watched “NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD.” Maybe now — with Seth Grahame-Smith’s nifty ghoulish twist on one of Jane’s classics, he will. Will you??zombie

Grahame-Smith’s “PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES: The Classic Regency Romance — Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!” adds those flesh-rotting zombies into the classic tale of social class and love. Heroine Elizabeth Bennet must wipe out a mass of zombies, who have returned to the English village of Meryton. But she’s distracted by that snobby Mr. Darcy (oh, who doesn’t remember that  Colin Firth scene in the pond?) How can anyone resist this novel with an opening line like this: “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.” To read more of Chapter One — CLICK HERE.)

Even those Brits across The Pond are taken with it: CLICK HERE to read their article about the book from The Guardian.

Thanks for the posting!! I just reserved a copy at the bookstore. They were sold out of all their initial shipment and had to go to another store to find it.
