In Kresley Cole’s PLEASURE OF A DARK PRINCE, Hot Wolfy Boy (Garreth MacRieve — Prince of the Lakae) — finds his mate, but she wants nothing to do with him. Lucia the Huntress never misses when she shoots her arrows. If she does, she crumbles into an agonzied heap of pain. And she won’t be seduced by MacRieve because if she lets him have his wolfy way with her — the Valkyrie will lose her superb archery skills. Those skills were given to her by Skathi — a timeless being — who healed Lucia after a terrible encounter with Cruach. Cruach is evil to the core. He’s like the devil. And he has a thing for Lucia. She escaped his clutches as a young girl, to be rescued and healed by the Skathi. Hence, her allegiance to the bow. So every 500 years or so, When Cruach the dead guy rises, Lucia has to go knock him back. Now, just as Cruach is about to rise and Lucia is determined to knock him down for good, MacRieve is determined to protect his mate from anything. He tracks her all over, which makes for some pretty interesting confrontations. Lots of hot encounters but Lucia holds out on the sex. She’s gotta be able to fight agaist Cruach.
I liked this book. It actually fills in the events that occurred during the first book A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER. Emma and Lachlain feature in the book, so we see a tiny bit of their story from the Valkyrie and Garreth’s perspective. Lots of adventure, tension, sarcastic humor from the Valkyries. Nix is even more off her rocker in this one. Oh — and lots of hot, sexy Lykaes!
The ending is a huge cliffhanger so I won’t tell you what occurs. But it’s good and I can’t wait for her next story! My only gripe? I thought the story was a tad too long. Lots of Amazon jungle stuff kind of bogged the last part of the novel down. But then again — it was worth it to get to the cliffhanger!

i have been trying to make sense of the storyline of A Hunger Like No Other and it took waiting for Pleasure of a Dark Prince to finally clarify. I enjoy Kresley Cole’s books but she tends to skip around to cover all the characters she introduces you to, now that i have figured out her nuance i can follow the Immortals in her books better
I loved this book because I didn’t realize it would connect with the first book! I’ve pretty much read all of the series in order. Have you read her free download — The Warlord Wants Forever? (this post has a link to the download — http://bit.ly/qtVDe) And have you also read her book with Gena Showalter — Deep Kiss of Winter?
Now I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

I’ve basically started mowing through this series – I just finished Conrad’s story, am now starting Cade’s and I have the next book sitting at home waiting (gotta love public libraries). I really enjoy how they are all intertwined. Good stuff.
